Through Montessori materials and hands-on learning, children build fine motor skills, practical life skills, and foundations in reading, writing, and math, including place value and the decimal system.
Daily Routine
Each day follows a calm, predictable routine that helps children focus deeply on their work. Work cycles, outdoor movement, shared meals, and quiet reflection are woven together to support independence and emotional well-being.
Classroom Experience
Our Montessori primary classroom is a prepared environment designed to inspire curiosity and confidence. Children explore Montessori materials freely, receive new lessons when they are ready, and work at their own pace with gentle support from trained Montessori educators, whom we call guides.
About Our Montessori Primary Program
In our Montessori primary program, children ages 2.5 to 6 are guided through meaningful experiences that honor their natural development. This is a preschool stage where children are eager to explore, ask why, and build their own understanding. Our role is not to rush them, but to foster independence and provide a solid foundation for future learning. In our mixed-age classroom, younger students observe older students, and older children strengthen their knowledge by helping peers. This natural collaboration builds social skills and confidence while reinforcing academic growth. Children learn responsibility, respect, and how to function within a community.
From 2.5 to 6 Years: Supporting Growth in Every Area
During early childhood, children develop rapidly across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains. The absorbent mind is especially strong during these years, allowing children to internalize language, math concepts, and cultural subjects with remarkable ease. In our Montessori primary program, we protect this stage by offering lessons that build deep understanding rather than relying on surface memorization.
Practical Life and Fostering Independence
Practical life is at the heart of the Montessori approach. Through practical life skills such as food preparation, environmental care, and lessons in grace and courtesy, children develop independence, coordination, and focus. These hands-on experiences strengthen fine motor skills and help children feel capable in their daily lives. When children pour water, polish materials, or prepare a simple snack, they are doing more than a task. They are building confidence, responsibility, and a sense of belonging within the classroom community.
Sensorial Exploration and the Five Senses
Sensorial materials refine the five senses and lay the groundwork for math, science, and logical reasoning. Children explore size, shape, texture, sound, and color through carefully sequenced Montessori materials. This exploration supports their own understanding of abstract concepts by first grounding them in concrete experiences. Through repetition and focus, children build cognitive skills and develop a strong foundation for place value, geometry, and future math lessons.
Language, Reading, and Writing
Language flourishes in our Montessori primary classroom. Children learn letter sounds through phonetic instruction and begin reading when they are developmentally ready. Writing begins with strengthening fine motor skills and gradually grows into forming words and sentences with joy. Because children learn at their own pace, they develop reading and writing skills with confidence rather than pressure. This individualized support prepares them beautifully for kindergarten and beyond.
Mathematics and Place Value
Mathematics in the Montessori primary program is hands-on and deeply engaging. Children work with materials that make abstract concepts visible and tangible. They explore number quantity, place value, and even the decimal system in ways that feel natural and exciting. By the time children enter the elementary years, they have a strong, confident math foundation built on a solid understanding.
Cultural Studies: Exploring the World
Our curriculum includes science, history, geography, art, and other cultural subjects that help children understand the world and their place within it. Lessons begin with the big picture and gradually move into detail, allowing children to build knowledge in a connected and meaningful way. Children explore maps, learn about continents, discover aspects of human history, and engage in creative art experiences that nurture imagination and expression.
Movement, Physical Education, and Well Being
Movement is woven throughout the day to support physical education and overall well-being. Whether working with materials, walking carefully through the classroom, or enjoying outdoor play, children develop coordination and self-control. Physical movement strengthens focus and helps children return to academic work feeling balanced and ready to learn.

There are not enough words to show the gratitude I have for this school. My older son started attending Montessori Academy on the Ranch in August 2019 and he is excelling in elementary school. I have to give a huge thanks to the teachers for tailoring his work period to him and meeting him where he was developmentally. My younger son also started here in April 2022 and still attends. He has grown so much. When he first started he could barely walk and talk at 18 months. Within a few months his vocabulary expanded along with his motor skills. His teachers truly focused on his specific development needs as well. Both my kids learned how to be confident, independent and complete basic tasks, such as clean up after themselves, get dressed, ask for things in a polite manner, etc. The school also does a wonderful job of potty training our kids! I didn’t have to do anything! Both my boys absolutely adore the teachers and the staff is wonderful and gets to know you on a personal level. We love the school so much we decided to stay here even though T-K was an option for both kids! Thank you to Tamara, Michelle, Tia, and the rest of the staff for the impact you made on my kids! We are so grateful!

I love the staff there! My son's teacher Ms. Marisol. She made what would have been the toughest transition, for a 20-month old kid who never spoke any English from home, to Montessori Toddler program, to a very smooth one within 2 months. We already noticed so much development from our son after 3.5 months. The office staff Ms. Tamara and Ms. Tia just made every day a very pleasant start and finish for our family. The activities at the Montessori and the monthly events keep our kids highly engaged and learning of new cultures and festive! We just love everything Montessori at the Ranch has to offer!!! We just love it so much and cannot wait to send our younger daughter there once she is 18-month old!!!

Love the education and how friendly everyone is. I have one child who attends and one isn’t quite old enough for us to send him but he loves to go to pick up and drop off and I know he will be really excited when it’s his turn also!
