Curriculum Focus

Rooted in authentic Montessori philosophy, our program supports the whole child through practical life, language, sensorial experiences, early math awareness, music and movement, and hands-on activities using Montessori materials. This is a stage where your child develops confidence through small successes, one careful step at a time.

Daily Routine

Your little one experiences a calm, predictable rhythm each day, with work periods, outdoor time, meals, rest, and meaningful connection woven throughout. According to the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, this back-and-forth interaction with responsive adults supports healthy development and emotional security.

Classroom Experience

Our toddler classroom is peaceful and intentionally prepared. Child-sized furniture, accessible materials, and inviting work areas allow toddlers to explore, choose, and repeat. Our guides observe closely and offer new lessons when your child is ready, so they learn without pressure and grow at their own pace.

About Our Montessori Toddler Programs

In our toddler program, we honor how much is happening inside your child right now. They are learning to be away from you, to trust a new environment, and to do more for themselves each day. That is why we focus on a gentle approach that is nurturing, structured, and respectful of developmentally appropriate needs. Research shows that children in higher-quality early learning settings are often better prepared for the next stage than children in lower-quality or less supported care environments. Our goal is simple. We want your toddler to feel safe, feel loved, and feel proud of what they can do.

From 18 Months to 36 Months: Supporting Your Toddler Through Every Stage of Growth

Toddlers grow quickly in language, coordination, and understanding. Some days feel easy, and other days feel like big emotions in a small body. At this stage, your child develops early self-control, flexibility, and working memory through repeated, carefully designed everyday experiences. These early "thinking skills" are part of executive function and are strengthened by warm relationships, predictable routines, and opportunities to practice independence.

Sensory Exploration for Curious Toddlers

Your toddler learns through the senses first. That is why our Montessori materials invite intentional touching, sorting, pouring, carrying, and exploration. Sensory play supports cognitive development by building neural connections that support attention, problem-solving, and sustained focus. In our learning environment, your child is free to repeat an activity as many times as needed, which is how mastery begins.

Movement, Balance, and Growing Coordination

Toddlers are built to move. In our program, children have opportunities to walk, climb, carry, balance, and practice coordination both indoors and outdoors. Movement supports physical health and can also support emotional regulation, cognitive development, and confidence as your child develops control over their body. When your toddler feels capable physically, they often feel braver socially and more open to learning.

Fine Motor Skills for Everyday Confidence

Fine motor skills are developed through meaningful work for toddlers. In our classroom, your child practices pouring from small pitchers, spooning, opening and closing containers, transferring objects, and simple food preparation. These hands-on activities strengthen coordination, focus, and self-control, while also giving your toddler that bright, proud feeling of "I did it." Over time, your child develops steadier hands, stronger concentration, and more independence.

Language Blossoms Through Connection

Language grows through connection, not correction. Our guides speak clearly and kindly, helping your toddler build vocabulary through conversation, songs, stories, and gentle lessons. As children learn letter sounds, they begin to hear patterns in spoken words. Some children naturally begin to combine sounds as they play with language, while others take more time. Both are normal. In Montessori, we follow the child, so children learn in a way that feels safe and encouraging.

Practical Life Skills and Early Independence

Practical life is the heart of the toddler classroom. Toddlers love to help, and they love to belong. Your little one may wash hands, wipe a table, carry a small tray, care for classroom materials, and practice simple routines that build independence and respect. These moments shape the way a child sees themselves, capable, needed, and part of a community. As Dr. Maria Montessori says, "At this age (between one and a half and two and a half years) children have a need to develop independence," and this is what we aim to provide.

Emotional Security and Social Learning

Your toddler will begin building relationships with peers in a gentle, supported way. Sharing, waiting, and taking turns are learned slowly and lovingly. Our guides offer calm support as toddlers practice social skills and learn to express feelings in healthier ways. When your child feels safe emotionally, learning comes more naturally.

Calm Routines and Predictable Transitions

Toddlers thrive when the day feels steady. Our daily rhythm supports smoother transitions, fewer surprises, and more peace. With consistent routines, your child develops trust in the environment, the adults, and themselves. That trust becomes a foundation for learning, exploration, and confidence.

Safe, Beautiful Spaces Designed for Toddlers

Our toddler spaces are thoughtfully prepared to support safety, comfort, and discovery. Materials are organized, shelves are accessible, and the classroom is arranged to invite independent choice without overwhelming your child. Early childhood education is most effective when the environment is intentionally designed to support development, relationships, and well-being.

There are not enough words to show the gratitude I have for this school. My older son started attending Montessori Academy on the Ranch in August 2019 and he is excelling in elementary school. I have to give a huge thanks to the teachers for tailoring his work period to him and meeting him where he was developmentally. My younger son also started here in April 2022 and still attends. He has grown so much. When he first started he could barely walk and talk at 18 months. Within a few months his vocabulary expanded along with his motor skills. His teachers truly focused on his specific development needs as well. Both my kids learned how to be confident, independent and complete basic tasks, such as clean up after themselves, get dressed, ask for things in a polite manner, etc. The school also does a wonderful job of potty training our kids! I didn’t have to do anything! Both my boys absolutely adore the teachers and the staff is wonderful and gets to know you on a personal level. We love the school so much we decided to stay here even though T-K was an option for both kids! Thank you to Tamara, Michelle, Tia, and the rest of the staff for the impact you made on my kids! We are so grateful!

I love the staff there! My son's teacher Ms. Marisol. She made what would have been the toughest transition, for a 20-month old kid who never spoke any English from home, to Montessori Toddler program, to a very smooth one within 2 months. We already noticed so much development from our son after 3.5 months. The office staff Ms. Tamara and Ms. Tia just made every day a very pleasant start and finish for our family. The activities at the Montessori and the monthly events keep our kids highly engaged and learning of new cultures and festive! We just love everything Montessori at the Ranch has to offer!!! We just love it so much and cannot wait to send our younger daughter there once she is 18-month old!!!

Love the education and how friendly everyone is. I have one child who attends and one isn’t quite old enough for us to send him but he loves to go to pick up and drop off and I know he will be really excited when it’s his turn also!
